As far back as I can remember, I've loved horses and wished upon many stars that someday I could have one. My parents wouldn't let me as it wouldn't fit in our back yard, my first husband obviously said 'NO WAY'. Finally at age 45, I said to my NEW husband that I had wanted a horse all my life and never could have one. He said "Why not?" I'm like, "Hummmm, does this mean you would let me?" He says, "Of course!"
I truly think he meant it was ok with him if I got one but I soon found out horses are like potato chips, you can't have just one!!
The good news is I'm now down to 7 and 5 of those are for sale. Training baby horses is for someone younger, stronger, and braver than I am...............<grin> I'll just stick with riding and spoiling my sweet boy "Dollar"

This past July 4th was a dark rainy day here on the Pohtorosa Ranch. While we were out 4 wheeling in the mud and water, I took this picture I call "my alien horses." The flash made their eyes glow green!! <grin>

"Dollar" ![]()
Dollar was my very first horse purchased 11-00 . I got a late start following my lifelong dream of owning a horse. You might say I had beginners luck with Dollar though as he is so gentle and kind but the cincher is he has this SUPER SMOOTH racking gait! He is far superior to most other Walkers we have competed against. When we go to a play day, we ALWAYS win the water glass and egg on a spoon events. Dollar is a 15.2 hand registered TWHBEA and RHBAA gelding. He is some cool fella and someday the grand kids will learn how to ride on him. I can not ever see me with out Dollar.

"Copy's Midnight Spirit"
I have loved this big black Tennessee Walker Stallion 'First Class Copy' ever since the first day I laid my eyes on him. To describe Copy is to describe 'the black stallion'. I had tried desperately to purchase a Copy stallion then a Copy filly only to always be turned down. A black mare was bred to Copy so I began to pray for a little version of Copy. Spirit is living proof of the power of prayer as June 17th at 10pm he arrived. He was raven black and dried off to have a curly mane and tail. He was mine before he was 24 hours old. I went over each day or two trying to bond with his little spirited heart as he was born on the farm next to mine. I am so in love and so thankful to God, Copy and Shamiss for making this little colt mine.
Oh to think of what ventures life has in store for the two of us............... Spirit won 4th in the weanling division of the Houston futurity!!! We found horse shows are a lot more work than cat shows!!!
Way to go Spirit!!

Spirit is FOR SALE!! |
This is Spirit all grown up and a double registered Tennessee Walker/ Racking Horse all grown up. I've decided I'm too old to break in a new young fella so he is now offered for sale as a gelding. He should make a wonderful show horse or play day horse or just like what he is to me, a BIG OLD PET!! Sweet, sweet fella.

"Pride of the Bayou" better known as "Phantom"
I can't really remember my frame of mind or why I did it exactly but I came upon the ad where Phantom was for sale. A young Max White Sabino double registered Tennessee Walker/Spotted Saddle Horse gelding. He captured my heart, I drove through a ice storm to get him and now with his puppy like personality, he has also captured my NON-EQUESTRIAN husband!!!! The boy is just sooooo super sweet and has an unbelievable gait!

This is my friend Janet on Copy (the sire of my colt) and me on Dollar having fun on a trail ride. I sure am glad Dollar has a strong back!!! Update!! I've lost 95 lbs since this picture so Dollar doesn't have to work as hard! :-) Of course, I think Dollar gained it!

And here I am today with my little HORSE CRAZY granddaughter "Saryn". God willing, someday soon, Saryn and Gma will enjoy trail rides on our horses. Saryn doesn't have one yet but I have this feeling she won't have to wait until she is 45 like I did.....<grin>
