The
Bengal and the Savannah originated from hybridizing a domestic and an exotic
feline species. With the Bengals it
is the Asian leopard cat, with the savannah’s it is the African serval.
It is much harder getting the savannah’s than the Bengals thus the huge
price difference. The cats all have
individual personalities, the difference in the two is of course their look and
inherited temperament from their exotic heritage. I don't raise early
generation bengals to avoid that situation thus all mine are far removed from
the ALC and temperament is no longer a problem.
The f1
is the largest with the boldest markings like it's exotic sire and it decreases
as the percentage of wild blood and generations go down.
Because the serval is such a docile exotic, the f1’s from him make
great pets. The opposite occurs from
the cross of the ALC and the domestic.

BUYER BEWARE!!!
There is a new scam out with a company selling a cat they call 'The Ashera Cat'.
This is literally NOTHING but a Savannah. I can tell by the pictures this
is even an f2 Savannah. We produce our Savannah's the same way.
Bengals are used quite often to hybridize with the African Serval to make the
F1's or first generation Savannah Cats. The Bengal it's self is a hybrid
of a domestic and the Asian Leopard Cat. Many times we get our F1
Savannah's by hybridizing the domestic with the African Serval.
If you are considering purchasing an Ashera, please check out my website and available kittens. I'm an honest person and hate to see anyone being 'taken' even if they have plenty of money. The most important thing in all this is the quality of pet you get. If you get something too unsocialzed to live peacefully in your home, what have you gained?
Thanks,
Joy
